Dr Terence Goh – General Practitioner (NOT ENROLING NEW PATIENTS)
Dr Terence came to Christchurch when he was 8 years old and graduated from Otago in 2010. He has worked in Timaru and Christchurch hospitals, gaining a great deal of surgical exposure such as neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery. He has also forayed into older persons health (looking after residential care homes), but generally enjoys all aspects of medicine and happy to talk about just about anything.
Dr Terence has recently become an accredited skin cancer doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. He is able to offer skin checks (mole checks etc) and performs minor surgery. Outside of work, he enjoys playing board games with various groups around town. He confessed to having quite a collection himself!
Dr Eric Spink- General Practitioner (NOT ENROLING ANY NEW PATIENTS)
Outside of work, Eric is a keen cyclist and especially enjoys mountain biking, but is keen on almost any outdoor activity.
Dr Amelia Cheah- General Practitioner (NOT ENROLING ANY NEW PATIENTS)
Amelia completed her medical degree at the University of Otago in 2019 and started her medical careers as a doctor at Whanganui Hospital. She then transferred to Christchurch hospital, fell in love with Christchurch and decided to stay on. Her hospital experiences includes general surgery, general medicine, psychiatry, older persons health and orthopedics. Due to the positive experience as a medical student during her GP placement, she decided to commence GP training in 2023 and enjoyed it ever since. She comes to us from a North Canterbury Medical Practice to move somewhere close to home. Amelia loves to play badminton, go for walks and play board games.
Dr Catherine Lu– General Practitioner (On maternity leave until 2026)
Catherine was born in Shanghai, China and moved to New Zealand in her primary school years. She grew up in Auckland before moving to the south island to further her tertiary studies. She completed her medical training with the University of Otago, and spent some time working in both Christchurch and Auckland Hospitals, before making the transition to general practice.
She loves all aspects of GP care. In particular, she enjoys building long term relationships with patients and getting to know them over time. She has a special interest in children’s and women’s health, and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Childs Health. She is experienced in the insertion of long acting contraception such as Mirena and the Jadelle, and is happy to be able to offer this service to her patients.
In her spare time Catherine loves to bake, sew her own clothes (in particular dresses with big pockets), and playing badminton (to balance the baking!)
Dr Mary Elliott- General Practitioner (NOT ENROLING ANY NEW PATIENTS)
Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Dr. Mary brings a wealth of experience and compassion to our practice. She holds a postgraduate medical degree from the University of Warwick and has garnered extensive experience through various hospital roles in the UK. In early 2017, Dr. Mary completed her GP training, paving the way for her remarkable journey in healthcare. Driven by a passion for global health, Dr. Mary dedicated a year to serving as a doctor in South Africa through a charitable program. Additionally, she established a non-profit organization in Tanzania, where she worked tirelessly until 2019, making a profound impact on communities in need.
In 2022, Dr. Mary made Christchurch her home and spent 15 months practicing in North Canterbury before joining us here at Casebrook Surgery in 2023. Dr. Mary’s expertise extends to Women’s Health, where she has a keen interest and proficiency in Long Acting Contraception, including the Mirena, Jaydess, and Jadelle. She also specialises in Skin Cancer and Diabetes management. As a bilingual practitioner, Dr. Mary is fluent in French, enriching our practice with diverse language capabilities.
Outside of her medical endeavors, Dr. Mary finds joy in exploring the great outdoors with her husband and three boys. Whether it’s scaling mountains or enjoying a refreshing swim, she embraces every moment with enthusiasm and zest.
Dr Jay Erickson – Urgent Care Doctor (NOT ENROLING ANY NEW PATIENTS)
Dr. Jay officially retired from general practice in 2022 but has chosen to continue his medical service in Casebrook Surgery as an on-call doctor. We are grateful to Dr Jay who helps to relieve GP shortage pressures in Canterbury. Dr. Jay remains available as needed to attend to acute patients who require same day doctor appointments.
After concluding a distinguished 25-year career in the US Navy, Dr. Jay Erickson immigrated to Christchurch in 2009. He initially practiced in Darfield for 2 years before assuming his current role at Casebrook Surgery for the past 15 years. Alongside his professional commitments, Dr. Jay and his family actively engage in community service initiatives in Christchurch. Additionally, Dr. Jay volunteers as a missionary physician, offering his expertise in medical outreach programs in Cambodia and Tonga.
Fiona is a born and bred Cantabrian who loves supporting people to feel their best through evidence-based diet and lifestyle advice. Fiona holds a Master of Dietetics and a Bachelor of Science majoring in Human Nutrition from the University of Otago. She has published her research in the international journal, Nutrients. She enjoys writing about nutrition and has had a number of articles published in NZ’s national GP magazine. Fiona specialises in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and the low FODMAP diet, reflux, bloating, constipation/ diarrhoea, high cholesterol, PCOS and endometriosis, a vegetarian/ vegan diet, and weight management. Fiona runs a full-day clinic every second Monday and would love to meet you. She is also a massive foodie so she would have lots of recipe ideas to share!
Dr Teddy Wu, FRACP, PhD – Private Specialist Neurologist

Dr Teddy Wu completed his medical training from University of Auckland in 2004. He then qualified as a specialist Neurologist in 2014 after spending time in Auckland and Christchurch during his training. He then completed a 3-year advanced clinical and academic fellowship in Melbourne at the Royal Melbourne Hospital as a stroke sub-specialist, and was awarded a PhD in stroke medicine from University of Melbourne. He returned to New Zealand in 2017 and has been practicing as a specialist Neurologist in the Department of Neurology at Christchurch Hospital since. In addition to clinical practice, Teddy has active interest in academic research and has published internationally in the field of neurology and stroke medicine.
He is excited to offer specialist Neurology consultation service at Casebrook Surgery. Teddy also has a good command of Mandarin and is able to provide consultation in Mandarin.
Outside of his work Teddy is a proud father of four active children and enjoys the great outdoors including skiing, running and tramping.
Neurologists are Southern Cross Health Insurance affiliated providers. Waitlist expectations: There is currently a wait time of approximately 4 months for a new patient appointment from time of referral. There is a cancellation waitlist and waitlisted patients will be offered these appointments when they become available, often at short notice.
Angela Todman –Health Improvement Practitioner
Angela is a Health Improvement Practitioner under Te Tumu Waiora and Pegasus. She joined Casebrook in April 2022. Angela is a registered mental health and addiction practitioner. She can see people of all ages and at all stages of their lives and help with any type of issue related to behaviour change or mental wellbeing. A consult uses evidence-based brief interventions to help to develop pathways and protocols around mental wellbeing and addiction support.
Ming Hoe- Clinical Lead Manager & Designated Prescriber
Ming joined Casebrook Surgery in 2017 after spending 12 years in the United Kingdom. He graduated from University of Otago and has worked in various healthcare settings both in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. He completed his postgraduate prescriber qualifications with University of Auckland in 2022, specialising in Respiratory prescribing. He is a Canterbury DHB approved spirometry taker and a qualified Vaccinator. He has extensive experience working with patients with complex health and medication needs. He has a particular interest in complex Asthma, COPD, Cardiovascular and Diabetic patients and offer FREE care plan reviews. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his 3 children – fishing, skiing, hiking, you name it. Ming is an avid skier and scuba diver (travelled across the globe extensively). He is also an active member of his local church and have participated in overseas missionary trips.
Andrea- Senior Nurse Manager
Andrea is a Christchurch born and trained nurse with 36 years of vast experience across multiple disciplines . She began her career working initially in Dunedin, then she moved to UK where she trained as a midwife. She later returned to New Zealand with her English husband and has since worked in Canterbury for the past 25 years. She has massive experiences working in children’s health, neonatal, midwifery, school nursing and eventually settled down in General Practice. In the past 20 years, she has gained a lot of experiences having worked in 4 different medical practices. Her interests and passion lies in children health, maternal health, travel medicine and diabetes.
In Andrea’s spare time, she also volunteers on medical missions and has visited Cambodia 6 times. She has travelled and volunteered her services in remote and slum areas in Thailand, India and Bangladesh. Very recently, she has been invited to be a nursing group facilitator which educates nurses across Canterbury on updating current medical practices. When the weather is fine and sea is gentle, you may find Andrea out kayaking around Lyttleton with her hubby. She also enjoys cycling, supporting the international community at her church or spending time with her new granddaughter .
Mars- Practice Nurse
Originally from the North Island Mars graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1991. She completed a year postgrad before heading off on her OE to the UK. There she worked in a variety of healthcare settings for many years before undertaking a BSc Hons in Midwifery in 2004. She consolidated her work experience as a Community Midwife in Surrey, UK. After extensive travel around Europe and Africa and having a family she came back to NZ in 2010 to work as a Midwife in the hospital. Eventually she went back to Nursing joining General Practice where she has worked as a Practice Nurse for the past 9 years. She has a wealth of healthcare experience across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. Mars is a very passionate Zumba instructor and has been teaching since 2015 running a small business locally whilst working part-time. This compliments her health background and helps supporter strong beliefs in health promotion and maintaining optimal wellbeing.
Marie-Claire- Practice Nurse
Marie-Claire is starting with us from graduating with her Bachelor of Nursing degree completed through Ara in 2024. Marie-Claire has a strong interest and passion for general practice, and is excited to begin her nursing career at Casebrook Surgery. Marie-Claire enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going on walks, and working out at the gym in her spare time
Lauren- Practice Nurse
Meikee – Practice Administrator
Meikee moved to NZ in 2018 and worked in the hospitality in various roles for 5 years before joining the medical industry. She was a social worker in Malaysia prior moving to NZ. Outside of work, Meikee enjoys hiking and camping with her family and friends.

Nicky- Practice Administrator
Nicky joined us in 2024 after moving down from Hawkes Bay. She has worked at Te Whatu Ora as a programme support officer. Nicky brings with her a wealth of customer service experience in various roles, as well as previously being the Unit Commander for an Air Cadets Squadron.

Ione- Practice Administrator and Health Care Assistant
Ione works in two roles at Casebrook, using her previous experience in pharmacy and retail, for both administration and clinical aspects. She has recently completed a Bachelor of Arts in Pschology and Sociology. In her spare time Ione loves to play netball and work out.
Annie – Admin Manager
Annie has studied and lived in Christchurch for 30 years. She began working in the medical center environment in 2011 and has developed a great understanding of process in the administration role.
She is a mother of two boys and goes on many adventures with the family. Outside of her work she is a Zumba Fitness Instructor and enjoys an active lifestyle.
Natasha -Group HR Manager
Natasha joined the Casebrook team in December 2021 after taking some time off work to have her gorgeous daughter. She has worked for six years in the healthcare industry most recently as a practice administrator for the Orthotic Centre.
Natasha is fantastic with children; she holds a primary teaching degree and has worked in Hong Kong as an outdoor educator. In her spare time Natasha volunteers with the NZ Cadet Forces as a part of 17 Squadron Air Cadets where she loves to go camping, flying, and teaching first aid.
